It is often hard to know where to start when choosing a name for your new cat. Surprisingly in Australia more than half of cats names are human names or nicknames, so maybe a baby book is a good place to begin!

• pick a name that your cat can easily recognise
• choose a name that is easy to call out
• research your cat's heritage or breed as this may give you some inspiration
• choose a name that will grow with your pet - for example 'Kitten' may not be appropriate for an adult cat
