Need some inspiration to name your new canine companion?

It is often hard to know where to start when choosing a name for your new dog. Surprisingly in Australia more than half of dog names are human names or nicknames, so maybe a baby book is a good place to begin!

A few tips that may help include:

• pick a name that your dog can easily recognise
• choose a name that is easy to call out
• research your dog's heritage or breed as this may give you some inspiration
• choose a name that will grow with your pet - for example 'Pup' may not be appropriate for an adult dog
