AWL is an approved charitable organisation in NSW under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. This enables AWL to employ a team of full-time inspectors who operate seven days a week. AWL inspectors respond to reports of cruelty or neglect of animals and any concerns received by the public in relation to the general welfare of animals.
If you feel that:
- an animal is being neglected and
- you are concerned for the welfare of the animal, or
- you have witnessed an act of cruelty being committed
Please report it by contacting our inspectorate.
When contacting AWL concerning a matter involving cruelty, please provide as much information as possible, this may include:
- what you have seen or are concerned about
- the address or location where the animal is being kept
- description of the animal
- details on what you have witnessed
- if known, details such as name and address of the person you think may be involved or responsible for the cruelty or neglect
- any other relevant details such as other witnessed, vehicle registration or description
To report a cruelty case call 1300 WELFARE (1300 935 3273)
Suspected cases of cruelty or neglect can also be reported by emailing the Inspectors direct at inspectors@awlnsw.com.au
All reports are confidential.
