Atlas is a young, energetic, and intelligent boy who is looking for his forever home! As a German Shepherd cross, he has the energy and smarts that come with the breed, and he thrives when mentally and physically stimulated. Atlas loves being part of the action and will be happiest in a home where he can join in on family activities and adventures.

Though he's full of energy, Atlas is still a young dog who will benefit from ongoing training and socialisation. He needs a handler who can provide structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement to help him grow into a well-mannered, balanced adult dog. He's very intelligent, so once you've captured his attention, he will enjoy learning and solving puzzles.

Atlas would best suit an active and experienced owner who is willing to continue his training and socialisation journey. He needs someone who is prepared to engage with him mentally and physically on a daily basis, offering structure and consistency while incorporating plenty of positive reinforcement. An active lifestyle where Atlas can join in on outdoor activities like hiking, running, or agility training will be perfect for him. An owner who is patient and understands the need for mental stimulation and exercise will help him flourish.

Atlas would do best with pet-savvy children who can understand and respect his energetic nature. He can be excitable and jumpy, so he may not be ideal for younger children who might be overwhelmed by his boisterousness. Older children who can engage in play and training with him will enjoy his enthusiasm. However, due to his high energy and occasional jumpiness, supervision around children is important to prevent accidental bumps or knocks.

Atlas has shown some signs of separation anxiety and escape behaviours in the past, particularly when left alone. He has demonstrated high-jumping to escape confined spaces, so a secure environment is crucial. To keep him safe, a home with a 6-foot fence is mandatory. He will benefit from training to help him feel secure and comfortable being left alone, as well as learning healthy outlets for his energy. Providing him with interactive toys, puzzle feeders, and structured alone time can help alleviate anxiety and prevent destructive behaviours.

Atlas could be rehomed with another dog that matches his energy levels. He would thrive with a confident, energetic companion who enjoys play and exercise as much as he does. A dog that can match his pace will help him release some of that excess energy and keep him mentally and physically engaged. However, he will need to be carefully introduced to other dogs to ensure compatibility and avoid potential stress.

Atlas is a young, energetic, and intelligent dog who will thrive in an active household with an experienced and patient owner. He needs someone who can continue his training, provide consistent guidance, and include him in their adventures. With the right environment and care, Atlas will be a loyal and loving companion,
