Narooma Dog Training Club, founded by Yve Robinson (local Narooma resident and life member of AWL NSW), has been operating in the Eurobodalla Shire for more than 10 years.  Up until June 2016, when strength of numbers afforded the opportunity to form a new branch in the shire, Narooma Dog Training Club was aligned with AWL Eurobodalla Branch.  This relationship of welfare and education for our canine friends resulted in many years of successful delivery of AWL services to shire residents.  Now the AWL NSW Narooma Dog Training Club Branch stands alone – a unique, new branch in the AWL NSW family.

Did you know!

Under the expert eye of the Chief Instructor Yve Robinson and using positive training methods, pet owners attending group classes learn to be responsible and competent dog handlers.  Likewise, puppies and dogs of all ages and breeds acquire good manners, socialise with other dogs and importantly, socialise with us humans. There are promotion days and award opportunities throughout the year, plus Rally O competitions and end of year trophies to be won.  Dog Agility is another aspect to be enjoyed.  Dogs love jumping over, under and through various pieces of custom made equipment.  The Club even holds a Dogs Christmas Party with games, prizes, fancy dress and treats for everyone – it is all great fun!

Our Volunteers

All Instructors are dedicated AWL NSW volunteers. All are very experienced handlers who themselves have completed obedience training to CCD level, some with more than one dog. Several have owned, cared for, and rehabilitated problem dogs so they know the difficulties that pet dog owners face.  All Instructors are on hand each week to give free advice and assistance as part of the training program.

Value for money

Narooma Dog Training Club runs obedience and agility training programs throughout the year. The annual registration fee is kept to a minimum to encourage people to come along and learn how to handle their pets both at home and in public spaces.  Once registered, there is a wealth of advice on tap!

The annual registration fee per handler is:

$25 Concession – Youth under 18/Pensioner
$40 Single Adult
$60 Family

A weekly ground fee of $3 is payable for each session attended.

All we ask is that you wear comfortable closed in shoes, bring a hat and slap on some sunscreen.  Oh, and bring dog waste bags and some treats for your dog as reward for a job well done!

How to register

Registration takes place on the 1st Saturday of each month at 1:30pm. Obedience Classes are held from 2:00pm – 3:00pm for all levels.
Agility Classes are held from 3:30pm – 4:30pm for dogs over 9-month-old with basic obedience skills.
Please bring the vaccination papers for your dog
Narooma Dog Training Club operates every Saturday except Public Holiday weekends, and the Christmas break.
For more detailed information call 0458 953 281, 9am to 5pm weekdays, and Carol will be happy to answer any questions.
Or come along and see us in action on the NATA Oval leash-free dog park, behind the Tourist Information Centre on the Princes Highway, Narooma.   Guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
