About Us

The AWL NSW Shoalhaven Volunteer Branch covers a large area from the country to the sea. We are a small branch of dedicated volunteers who conduct many activities including rehabilitation and fostering of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.

Meetings are held at the Bomaderry Bowling Club every second Monday of each month at 10 am in the Magnolia Room (visitors are always welcome).

Desexing

We arrange subsidised desexing programs for the local community, run a program to assist the pets of the homeless at the Shoalhaven Homeless Hub on the last Thursday of each month, and we provide information for your companion pet.

Our volunteers are at the Shoalhaven Animal Shelter morning off BTU Road, South Nowra on the second Saturday of each month from 10 am – 12 pm for those requiring assistance with the cost of desexing. Subsidised desexing vouchers are available to those with a health care card or pension card.

All animals must be microchipped to qualify so please bring them along to be scanned. If they are not yet microchipped the shelter staff can assist with this on the day (small charge applies).

Fundraising

Fundraising for our branch includes holding raffles, garage sales and much more. We rely on fundraising to help with the care of our animals. We appreciate all donations including all animal products, bedding, food, etc in reasonable condition.

Adopting a Pet

All of our animals available for adoption can be viewed on our Facebook page or on the following link:
