We’re growing so we can care for more animals…

AWL NSW’s Kemps Creek shelter has been a hive of activity over the summer holidays, with work beginning on upgrading the vet clinic and building the second stage of the dog walking track! The long-anticipated vet clinic renovation began in December, and is progressing ahead of schedule, with completion expected in late March.

The renovation includes the construction of a new isolation ward, to help keep up with the influx of homeless animals and ensure that infectious diseases are controlled as best as possible. Other features of the upgrade include an extended X-ray room, and upgraded equipment, which we are excited about as they will allow us to provide even better service to both our shelter animals and private clients.

Building has also been steadily moving forward on our beautiful dog walking track, with numerous dog agility yards going up to provide the shelter pups with a place for enriching and engaging play. The dog walking track has been kindly funded by the Goldie Knight Foundation, and we are very thrilled to be able to create an exciting new space for our homeless dogs to enjoy while they wait to be adopted.
