UPDATE: 23 JUNE 2021.
AWL NSW Kemps Creek facility temporarily closed due to COVID-19.
To help stop the spread of COVID-19, and to follow advice and recommendations provided by health authorities, please be advised that the Animal Welfare League NSW Kemps Creek facility will be temporarily closed to the public effective from Thursday 24 June 2021 and for a minimum period of four days. More announcements will be made on our social media channels from next week with further updates as they become available.
As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, AWL NSW has been closely monitoring the advice from the Government and health authorities, and we are taking every precaution to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our staff is protected so that we can continue to provide the best care possible to the animals in our care. As part of this, we have taken the decision to temporarily close to the public. This is one strategy to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
We understand that this temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, however, this measure is being undertaken to help minimise risk and disruption to our staff and to help ensure we can continue to provide service and achieve the best welfare outcomes for the animals in our care. Please be assured that our animals are still receiving the high-quality of care from our shelter staff during this time, and this closure is to help minimise the amount of risk and exposure to our team.
We thank our supporters, pet-lovers, and members of the public for their patience and understanding with this temporary inconvenience while we try to minimise the risk to our staff during these extraordinary times.
With everyone’s help, we can ensure we can continue to provide the high quality of care to our shelter animals and help find them new forever homes during these unprecedented times.
