North Coast

About Us

The Animal Welfare League NSW North Coast team is made up of passionate volunteers committed to improving the lives of companion animals and supporting pet owners in areas from the Queensland border to Coffs Harbour.

We proudly operate a Cat Adoption Centre in Mullumbimby to care for surrendered cats and kittens until they are adopted.

Our monthly meeting is held at Mullumbimby Uniting Church, second Wednesday of every month, at 5.30 pm. If you’d like to attend, please call us on 0436 845 542.

What We Do

Subsidised Desexing

As part of AWL NSW’s commitment to responsible pet ownership, our Branch provides subsidised desexing services through local vet clinics. This support is intended for pensioners, low-income earners, and anyone experiencing financial hardship within our community.
Please note: this assistance is for owned pets only. Eligibility and availability may vary.

Adoptions

Our branch helps local cats in need find loving, permanent homes. We support the adoption process by caring for and preparing cats for rehoming, assisting with meet-and-greets, and helping match each animal with the right family.

All cats available for adoption are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Rehoming

If you are looking to surrender your cat, please get in touch with us. Our ability to accept surrendered animals depends on our current capacity and resources, but we will always do our best to help or guide you to alternative support.

Please note at this stage we currently do not assist with rehoming dogs.

How You Can Help

Whether you can spare a few hours or more, your time and skills are invaluable. Please contact us to find out more.

Make a Donation

Our Branch depends on the support of our community to continue our vital work. We gratefully accept monetary donations as well as goods such as pet food, bedding, toys, and other pet supplies. Every donation, big or small, helps us care for animals in need. Please contact us to discuss how you can donate.
