Our second annual Furever Home Festival, held on Saturday 20 June at our Kemps Creek shelter, brought the community together in the best possible way, celebrating pets and helping even more of them find their forever homes.
From the moment the gates opened at 9:30am, the shelter was buzzing with animal lovers, families and first-time visitors, all keen to meet our adoptable cats and dogs, chat with our team, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the work we do every day.
19 Pets Found Their Forever Homes
The best part of any festival? The happy endings. We’re thrilled to share that 19 animals, including several through our Foster-to-Adopt program, found their furever homes on the day. Every one of these adoptions represents a new beginning for a pet who’s waited for their chance, and for a family ready to welcome them in.
To everyone who returned home with a new furry best friend – thank you. You’re the reason days like this matter so much.
Behind-the-Scenes Fun
Alongside the adoptions, guests explored The Dog House Australia set, stepped inside our Animal Care Truck, and enjoyed a great atmosphere with food and market stalls throughout the day. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to see, up close, the impact of AWL NSW’s work and the care that goes into every animal in our shelter.
