About Us
The AWL NSW Shoalhaven Volunteer Branch covers a large area from Gerringong to Ulladulla on the NSW South Coast. We are an active branch of dedicated volunteers who conduct many activities including rehabilitation and fostering of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.
Meetings
Branch meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 10:30 am at the Bomaderry Hotel at 71 Meroo Street, Bomaderry. Visitors are welcome, so if you would like to attend a branch meeting please contact our volunteers on 0429 429 885 or just come along and say hi.
Desexing
We offer assistance with the cost of desexing pets for Shoalhaven residents with a valid pension or health care card. Your animal must be microchipped under the cardholder’s name and address prior to submitting the request form. If your animal is not microchipped, you can take them to the Shoalhaven Animal Shelter, 19 Nowra Hill Road (off Btu Road) at South Nowra (4429 3410) and the friendly staff there can microchip your animal for a small fee. If you require financial assistance with desexing your microchipped pet, please complete our subsidised desexing voucher request form.

Pets of the Homeless
We work closely with other local support groups to assist those without permanent accommodation in the Shoalhaven. We offer free Desexing, vaccinations, microchipping as well as food and other essentials. To access our homeless program contact the Shoalhaven Homeless Hub on (02) 4423 2804 and ask for a referral to Animal Welfare League NSW Shoalhaven.
Fundraising
Fundraising for our branch includes holding raffles, garage sales and much more. We rely on fundraising to help with the care of our animals. We appreciate all donations including all animal products, bedding, food, etc in reasonable condition.
Information Centre and Op Shop
Visit our Op Shop and help support vulnerable animals! Funds raised through sales go straight back into assisting animals in need within the Shoalhaven area.
