A Little Bit About Storm
Meet Storm, a striking border collie with the classic good looks of her breed and a heart that opens up beautifully once she feels safe. She's affectionate and loyal with people she trusts, but Storm is still building her confidence in the wider world, so she'll need a calm, patient household willing to let her come out of her shell in her own time. She can be shy around new people and situations, and when she's frightened or meeting someone unfamiliar she may urinate submissively, something that should ease as her confidence grows with the right support.
Storm would do best in a quiet, understanding home where the pace of life matches her needs. She'd suit a family with pet savvy kids aged 12 and up, as young children or boisterous energy could overwhelm her while she's still finding her feet. She has some mild separation anxiety, so a household that can help her build independence gradually would suit her well, and given her breed's talent for jumping and problem solving, six foot fencing is a must to keep her safe and secure.
Storm is still working on her social skills with other dogs and would benefit from ongoing, careful introductions and socialisation. With the right guidance she has real potential to make canine friends down the track. She may also be able to live alongside a cat, provided the introduction is slow and well managed. What Storm needs most is someone willing to invest the time: a steady hand, realistic expectations, and plenty of patience while she learns that the world is safe. For the right person, she'll reward that effort many times over with the loyal, loving companion she's ready to become.
