  • Cats over 7 years - $100
  • Cats over 11 years - $75
  • Purebred cats under 7 years (with papers) - $300
  • Kittens (under 6 months) - $200
  • Purebred kittens (with papers) - $350

Adoption fees for cats through our regional Branches are set by the local branch and listed on each animal's profile.

Please call us on 8899 3333, or come by and visit us when you are ready to adopt a cat so we can discuss your options in adopting the right companion pet for you.

Making the right match in 5 easy steps:

1. Getting started

Our Kemps Creek shelter is open 7 days a week from 10.00 am until 3.30 pm for adoptions
We recommend you bring the entire family.

2. Talk to our expert staff

Our experienced shelter staff will guide you through the completion of our adoption questionnaire to gather key information about your lifestyle, as AWL aims to match each individual or family with the right pet.

3. Getting to know the right cat

Once your questionnaire has been completed our experienced shelter staff will discuss suitable kittens or cats for your lifestyle
You will then get to meet each cat one on one in the company of a shelter staff member.

4. Take your time

Choosing a new companion should never be rushed, take your time to get to know each cat recommended by the shelter staff
If the first cat you meet is not suitable, that is okay; we always have many cats with different personalities looking for loving homes.

5. The adoption

Once you have made your choice, the staff will assist you through the adoption process, so you can take your new family member home.

Remember, at AWL all adopted cats come with a 14 day health guarantee, please call the Shelter or AWL Veterinary Hospital with any questions on 8899 3333.
