Get involved with the Animal Welfare League NSW today!

A bequest to Animal Welfare League NSW ensures the protection, care and rights of unwanted, neglected and abandoned animals in your area. It’s how we’re able to identify, research and promote animal welfare issues throughout the community.

When creating your will, consider the future care of your animals. Whomever you choose to care for them, it’s important they understand their responsibility and are prepared to value your animal as much as you do.

If you are concerned about the ongoing care for your animal, our Legacy Program is there to provide peace of mind that your beloved companion will be cared for into the future.

You have the reassurance of knowing that your companion animal will be taken into care immediately upon your death. We have an Emergency Card Program in place for Legacy Pets. Ensuring that loved ones, or emergency services, are able to contact us if needed.

You can also decide whether you’d like us to find a new caring home for your animal, place your animal into permanent foster care under our Guardianship or let your animal live at Legacy House for the rest of their natural life.

The Cats of Legacy House

Our staff and volunteers care for the resident cats of Legacy House like they are part of their own family. The accommodation is spacious, yet contained. There’s an outdoor area for them to stretch their legs, enjoy the fresh air and catch some sunshine. Cats can choose to come and go between their indoor rooms and the outdoor area during the day. At night they are safely tucked away in comfy rooms with lots of soft bedding to snuggle into. For cats who prefer a family home, without the company of other cats, we offer a Legacy Foster Care program.

Workplace or Payroll Giving is one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to make a tax deductible donation that supports the animals in our care. Many prefer this method to making an individual donation. Workplace Giving empowers you to make a difference in your community through regular donations from your pre-tax pay to Animal Welfare League NSW.

How Does it Work?

Donating through your payroll is a way of supporting the Animal Welfare League NSW and obtaining an immediate tax benefit.

Rather than submitting tax deductible donations with your tax return, your nominated donation amount is deducted from your salary before deducting your tax, so the benefit to you is immediate. Download our Workplace Giving form.

  • You can donate as much or little as you like – just 82 cents a day ($25 a month) makes a huge difference
  • There’s no need to remember to make a payment each month
  • You can opt out anytime
  • Your company may agree to match your donation
