Toppan is a lively and affectionate young pup who's grown up in foster care alongside her brother, spending her days playing and learning. She adores ear rubs, belly scratches, and all the attention you can give her. Like many puppies, she can be a little nippy when excited, so she'll need a home committed to gentle, ongoing training. Positive reinforcement and patience are key with Toppan - she responds beautifully to encouragement and a simple "good girl" will light her up.
Toppan is already showing off her smarts, having mastered "sit" with voice command alone and "down" with a voice and hand signal combo. She's working on "roll over" and "shake" and, with her high food motivation and eagerness to please, she'll be quick to pick up new skills with continued training. Her forever family will need to provide plenty of mental stimulation throughout the day to keep her clever mind busy and avoid unwanted destruction.
This bright girl would suit an experienced dog owner who can offer the structure, patience, and persistence she needs to thrive. She loves everyone she meets but can get mouthy when overly excited, so a calm, confident household - ideally with an older, well-trained dog - would be ideal to help her learn appropriate play and self-control. Very young children might not be the best fit at this stage of her development.
