Jasper is a shy but affectionate little soul who's slowly learning how wonderful life with people can be. He has the most adorable black-and-white tuxedo coat, and while he can be a little tricky to photograph (as many black cats are), in person his markings make him truly striking.
This quirky boy is independent most of the day, happily exploring every corner of the house and squeezing into any spot that looks interesting. But in the evenings, Jasper transforms into the sweetest companion. He'll seek you out, purring non-stop, and gently nudge you with a headbutt when he's ready for attention. When he's in the mood, he has a very funny little routine-meowing for pets and then dashing away just when you come closer, only to return a moment later for more cuddles.
While he isn't overly playful yet, Jasper has been known to bat around spring toys when he thinks nobody is watching. His favorite safe spots are his cozy little bed or his pet carrier, where he retreats for naps. When it comes to being petted, he has a funny way of tucking his head back into his shoulders to show you exactly where the best scratches should go.
Jasper is looking for a patient home with a family who can give him the time and love he needs to feel at home.
