Intestinal worms in dogs and cats include tapeworm, roundworm, whipworm and hookworm.
Symptoms depend on the severity of the worm burden and can range from diarrhoea, vomiting and failure to thrive due to intestinal obstruction and severe anaemia.
The recommended intestinal worming protocol for dogs and cats is as follows:
- 0 – 12 weeks of age: Administer a worming product every 2 weeks.
- 12 weeks – 6 months of age: Administer a worming product every 4 weeks.
- 6 months +: Administer a worming product every 3 months.
